About the client

FurnObject is a specialized e-commerce platform launched by the founders of the Binar architecture studio, offering custom-made furniture and architectural fittings. The brand focuses on high-end, contrasting material combinations—blending cold metal with warm wood and soft textiles.

Unlike mass-market retailers, FurnObject provides unique, design-led pieces that require a sophisticated presentation. Overall, the platform serves as a digital showroom where functionality meets art, allowing customers to configure and purchase exclusive interior elements with confidence and ease.

Challenges

Transitioning from a service-based architecture studio to a product-based retail model presented significant operational challenges. Previously, sales were handled through manual feedback forms on the Binar website, creating a bottleneck that limited scalability and visibility.

The lack of a dedicated catalog meant customers couldn't easily browse or customize products, leading to a disjointed user experience. The primary challenge was to build a standalone e-commerce ecosystem that automated these manual processes while maintaining the strict visual standards and premium reputation of the parent brand.

Solution statement

To create a comprehensive solution for FurnObject, we followed a systematic approach that encompassed UX research, visual design, and e-commerce development. Our primary focus was on decoupling the furniture sales from the architecture site to give the product line its own stage.

Our decision involved a thorough analysis of the purchasing flow for custom furniture. We developed a customized plan that integrates a visually rich catalog with a robust order management system. This allowed us to automate the sales funnel, replacing email chains with a streamlined checkout process. We ensured visual continuity with Binar, using a design language that highlights the textures of metal and wood.

So a team with diverse skills in e-commerce logic and brand identity worked collaboratively to ensure the store performs flawlessly. This includes front-end development that showcases the tactile quality of the materials, ensuring the digital shop feels as premium as the physical furniture.
